Slow motionThe glass slipped from his hand, it fell silently, slowly as though the air beneath had thickened to cushion its descent. In reality though, it was his own perception which slowed and the glass shattered on the hard wooden floor sending a cascade of shards into the air, each one refracting the candle light in to a dazzlingly beautiful display. To him they resembled diamonds, the sum of the richness of his life, but once they landed each in turn returned to broken glass, no longer objects of wonder, now simply a hazard to others. The message was not lost on him.Slow motion
